Faculty of Homeopathy
The Faculty of Homeopathy Website

The Faculty of Homeopathy was founded in 1844 in London, England, and is now a global education provider, research, and membership organisation for statutorily regulated integrative healthcare practitioners and professional homeopaths.
The organisation was originally called British Homoeopathic Society (BHS) who held their inaugural meeting on 10th April 1844. The date specifically chosen for this inaugural meeting as it was the birthday of Dr Samuel Hahnemann (the founder of homeopathic science), who died a year earlier on 2nd July 1843.
The BHS continued for 100 years until it was renamed The Faculty of Homeopathy in 1944. In 1950 the organisation was incorporated by an Act of the UK Parliament, The Faculty Of Homoeopathy Act.
The Faculty of Homeopathy is deeply honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as their Royal Patron. As The Prince of Wales, His Majesty first became Patron of the Faculty in 2019. Following His Majesty’s ascent to the throne, His Majesty had graciously chosen to retain and continue his Patronage of the Faculty.
Faculty of Homeopathy’s Quality Assurance Scheme
We are proud to announce that the Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy (PIVH) has been awarded a certificate of Quality Assurance from the Faculty of Homeopathy. What does this mean for our students?
- Providing courses with the official certification of the Faculty of Homeopathy’s Quality Assurance scheme offers the utmost security for our students that they are embarking on an educational program of the highest quality, integrity, and competence.
- During their training, all of our students are eligible to join the Faculty of Homeopathy as an Associate member.
- Post graduation from the PIVH Professional Master Course, our graduates are eligible to apply for Affiliate practitioner membership — thereby receiving the prestigious internationally recognised ‘AFHom’ post-nominals.
