Introductory Veterinary Homeopathy Course

By popular demand: the PIVH now offers an online introductory course on basic homeopathic theory and acute prescribing — this October 2025!

We had many practitioners express their desire to start learning homeopathy but who were not quite ready to commit to our full Professional Master Course in Veterinary Homeopathy.

Well, we now have the answer for you!

The PIVH will now offer Module 1 of the Professional Master Course as a stand-alone course. This LIVE ONLINE module will give you a solid foundation in homeopathic theory and prescribing, focusing on taking acute cases and achieving successful results in clinical practice.

Students who complete this stand-alone Module 1 course, and are ready to learn more advanced prescribing skills, may then take the full Professional Master Course in Veterinary Homeopathy. Completing this course will qualify toward Module 1 completion of the Professional Master Course AND give you a discount off your tuition!

This course is designed for veterinarians, veterinary students and veterinary technicians/nurses. Our first offering of Module 1 as an introductory course will start this fall in October 2025.

Module 1: Introduction to Homeopathic Theory & Principles, Taking the Acute Case

In this introductory learning module, study will focus on:

  • Establishing the foundational principles.
  • Mechanism of homeopathic effect, the curative response and evaluation.
  • How to work up a case, use of the repertory and analysis of symptoms.
  • How to study the materia medica and review of most common polychrest remedies used in acute prescribing (from injuries to gastroenteritis).
  • Adjunctive therapies, case management, integrating homeopathy into practice, interview techniques and client communication.
  • Includes mentored case management, homework, and a course completion exam.

Module 1 of the Professional Master Course includes live virtual classroom modules, webinars with mentoring case rounds, homework study with clinical case work, and a final evaluation examination.

  • The program is designed for live attendance to achieve optimum learning, but all lectures will be recorded to be viewed on our online learning platform.
  • Students have unlimited access to all lectures until the end of the course.
  • Students have found being able to re-listen to lectures (even after live attendance) invaluable for their studies.
  • The PIVH utilizes an interactive classroom teaching style with lecture, discussion, and casework; utilized to facilitate different student’s learning styles.
  • Our lecture style is described as dynamic and engaging, creating a safe participatory environment to balance the right combination of lecture and partaking in active discussion (where it is often said the “real learning” happens).
  • At the PIVH, we insist on a high student to faculty contact ratio in all of our courses, and strive to provide supportive mentorship throughout the entire course via an online student forum, interactive class discussion, and one-on-one mentoring.

Problem-based learning (PBL) case study application is used in every module, merging the theoretical with the practical, and engaging students to build the foundations for homeopathic clinical practice.

  • PBL casework enables students to work through and solve real cured cases in a step-by-step process. You will learn how to: take a case, follow a homeopathic work-up process and methodology, prescribe, interpret remedy responses, and manage clinical case progress, including supportive care and client management considerations.
  • Actual cured clinical cases are chosen for PBL study so students will find out the clinical outcome of their decisions during class. This process helps to solidify the correct learning principles of their case management choices.
  • Students find the PBL case work critical in achieving clinical confidence and success outside the classroom.

There is homework study throughout the course with a final exam to be completed electronically before the final webinar. Students will receive a comprehensive digital workbook which includes detailed handouts inclusive of all lecture notes, additional reference materials, class resources, etc. While we always encourage note-taking during class, all the information presented will be included in full detail within the handouts.

Module 1 will provide you with 55 hours of CE through the AHVMA, an AVMA affiliate organization.
