The Mark Spencer Hotel will be hosting the PIVH 2020-2021 Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy and offering a fixed discounted room rate for our students, providing exceptional value in downtown Portland accommodation. Please tell the staff at booking that you are a student of the Professional Course to receive the group-rate discount.
Located in the heart of downtown, the Mark Spencer Hotel is perfectly suited to access downtown, the Pearl District, Chinese Gardens, Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, Portland Art Museum, Portland Zoo, and so much more! All four corners of Portland can easily be accessed through Portland’s excellent public transportation, including a down town trolley line, light rail (MAX), and buses.
The famous Powell’s, the largest independent bookstore in America, is just a mere block and a half away and open till wee hours for late night browsing and nibbles.

The rooms come with the option of choosing a modern mini-kitchen (kitchenette) with furnishings to enable a more comfortable stay and economizing on food costs. Whole Foods is located approximately 2.5 blocks away and Fred Meyer (general grocery store) approximately 10 blocks away. Please see room rates below for further details about accommodation.
If you are looking to extend your stay for some local site seeing, the Mark Spencer Hotel has offered to extend our group rate discount for additional dates before and after the course for our students.

Food (and Coffee!)
Portland is a city known for its excellent food, coffee, and microbrews. There are numerous restaurants, delis, coffee shops, and breweries surrounding the hotel. The hotel and PIVH faculty will be happy to provide you with recommendations.
Portland is also famous for its delicious and inexpensive food cart islands scattered throughout the city, one of which is located several blocks from the hotel which makes excellent affordable lunch options.
While in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, please do sample some of the local coffee roasters in the city. The Mark Spencer hotel provides free of charge freshly roasted coffee delivered daily and ground onsite for all guests from Kobos local roaster.
MAX (Portland’s Light Rail) will drop you off approximately 2 blocks from the hotel. From the Portland International Airport MAX station, pick up the Red Line to City Center. Get off at the Galleria/SW 10th Ave MAX Station. Walk west on Morrison St. a short distance to SW 11th Ave, Turn Right. Walk 2.5 blocks along SW 11th Ave. and the hotel will be on your left.
