Boenninghausen’s Characteristics & Repertory with WordIndex.<\/i><\/b> An excellent repertory, especially for veterinarians to use. Emphasizes the physical expression of disease and utilizes the Boenninghausen method of case analysis. Works well with Kent’s Repertory.<\/p>\n

Synoptic Key to the Materia Medica.<\/i><\/b> A materia medica and repertory. The genius in this work is the succinct description of symptoms using a minimum of words. Excellent for acute prescribing.<\/p>\n

Stuart Close, MD<\/b> (1860\u20141929, U.S.). Taught at New York Homeopathic Medical College.\u00a0The Genius of Homeopathy\u2014Lectures and Essays on Homeopathic Philosophy.<\/i><\/b> An excellent presentation of philosophy and principles.<\/p>\n

Lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy, with Classroom Notes and Word Index (7th Ed.).<\/i><\/b> <\/i>Understanding the principles of homeopathy from one of the great practitioners and teachers.<\/p>\n

Robin Murphy, ND<\/b> (1950\u20142021, U.S.).\u00a0<\/b>Nature\u2019s Materia Medica (3rd<\/sup> or 4th<\/sup> Ed.) <\/i><\/b>A well-organized materia medica written in modern English with a pleasing visual layout, that combines the writings of Allen, Anshutz, Boericke, Burnett, Clarke, Cooper, Hale, Hahnemann, Hering, Julian, Paracelsus, Phatak and Radamacher as the major resources of this text. Excellent first reference point materia medica, especially for new homeopaths.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jay Yasgur, PRh, MSc <\/b> (Contemporary, U.S).\u00a0Yasgur’s<\/em>\u00a0<\/b>Homeopathic Dictionary and Holistic Health Reference.<\/i><\/b> A dictionary that describes the meaning of the older medical terminology found in the homeopathic material\u00a0medica and repertory.<\/div><\/div>\n

Samuel Hahnemann, MD <\/b>(1745\u20141853, German).\u00a0<\/b>Organon of the Medical Art.<\/i><\/b> Edited and annotated by Wenda Brewster O\u2019Reilly, Ph.D.\u00a0 Most contemporary translation of the last edition of the basic instruction book for the practice of homeopathy by its founder.<\/p>\n

Nicola Henriques,<\/strong>\u00a0LicLCCH, Cert.Hom. Ed., MBRCP\u00a0<\/strong>(1946\u2014, Contemporary, British). Release the Vital Force: The Exact Science and Art of the Homeopathic Patient Examination. <\/i><\/b>Provides a cohesive overview to the homeopathic interview and examination process guiding to the initial prescription. Emphasizing the teachings of Hahnemann, Henriques encourages the reader to examine the true goals and art of the homeopathic intake. Highly recommended.<\/p>\n

Constantine Hering, MD<\/b> (1800\u20141880, U.S.).\u00a0Guiding Symptoms to our Materia Medica.<\/i><\/b> A multi-volume (5 or 10 depending on the publisher) set of materia medica and the most complete available. Dr. Pitcairn and many of the faculty use it the most \u2014 a must have for a serious homeopath.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wendy Jensen, DVM<\/strong>\u00a0(1961\u2014 ,\u00a0Contemporary, U.S.<\/span><\/strong>)<\/span>. Organon Reflections<\/em>.<\/strong> Unique reflections on the Organon which bring Hahnemann\u2019s aphorisms to life, through painting a vivid portrait of a patient\u2019s curative healing process and the homeopathic practitioner\u2019s experience. This is an absolute must read for any homeopath, regardless of experience, to further elucidate the bounty that the Organon offers and to bring clarity to one\u2019s homeopathic clinical practice.<\/p>\n

James Tyler Kent, MD<\/b> (1849\u20141916, U.S.):<\/p>\n

Kent\u2019s Minor Writings on Homeopathy<\/i><\/b>. Articles on theory & clinical application.\u00a0More than any after Hahnemann, Kent advanced the understanding of homeopathy to a higher level. His books are invaluable.<\/p>\n

Lectures on Homeopathic Materia Medica with New Remedies.<\/i><\/b> A materia medica with clinical orientation. Excellent presentation of the medicines from his lectures to medical students.<\/p>\n

Materia Medica of\u00a0Homeopathic Remedies<\/i><\/b> with sub-headings and cross-reference by Henny Solberg Haugen<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/i>This is the same text as Kent’s\u00a0Lectures on Homeopathic Materia Medica<\/em>, but with subheadings and cross references. Thus, is visually laid out so that it can be easily referenced like most materia medicas.<\/p>\n

R. G. Miller, MD<\/b>\u00a0(1862\u20141919, Scottish).\u00a0Relationship of Remedies and Sides of the Body.<\/i><\/b> Gives very useful guide-lines to remedy relationships. Other books may have his chart\u2014often Kent’s repertory includes it at the back of his book.<\/p>\n

Richard Pitcairn, DVM, PhD<\/strong>\u00a0(1941\u2014, U.S.)\u00a0& Wendy Jensen, DVM<\/strong>\u00a0(1961\u2014 ,\u00a0Contemporary, U.S.<\/span><\/strong>)<\/span>. The Principles and Art of Cure by Homeopathy. <\/strong><\/em>A contemporary of Farrington, Robert’s provides a complementary resource of philosophy and principles to Stuart Close’s The Genus of Homeopathy<\/em> written in “modern day” language.<\/p>\n
